Wayne Christian Earns Business Endorsement

AUSTIN, TX— The Business and Commerce Political Action Committee (BACPAC), the political arm of the Texas Association of Business (TAB), has endorsed Wayne Christian for election to the Texas Railroad Commission.

“Wayne understands the needs of business in Texas and will make a positive impact for our economy,” said TAB CEO Bill Hammond.  “We believe Wayne Christian is the best choice in this race.”

“In the Texas House, I worked closely with Texas Association of Business as we fought to reduce the regulatory and tax burden on businesses across the state,” said Christian. "At the Texas Railroad Commission, I will continue to fight for free market policies that create jobs and economic prosperity.”

Christian served in the Texas House from 1997-2013, where he served as Vice-Chair of Regulated Industries and as a member of the Energy Resource Committee. He is the only candidate in this race with experience in doing what the railroad commission actually does — create an environment that protects our communities while promoting responsible oil and gas production. In the Railroad Commission, his priorities will be to provide consistent, predictable, and science-based leadership and use his experience as a state representative to bridge the gap between the commission and the legislature.

Wayne has been married to his wonderful wife Lisa for over 40 years, and they have three daughters – Liza, Lindsey, and Lauren. Together, they are members of the First Baptist Church in Center, where he has served as a member of the Texas Baptist Men’s Laity Board. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Shelby County Senior Citizen Corporation of Texas.
